Accept Christ as Savior and Lord

Prior to becoming a member of Open Door Fellowship, you must accept Christ as your personal Savior and Lord.  No greater decision exists for your life than the decision as to what you will do with Jesus Christ.  If you have any questions or doubts in respect to your salvation, talk with the pastor as quickly as possible.  This issue needs to be settled in your life.

Baptism by Immersion After Conversion

Baptism is not a condition of salvation; however, it is a testimony of your salvation.  As soon as possible after you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord, you should follow through with the ordinance of baptism.  Jesus was baptized upon the beginning of His ministry by John the Baptist (Matthew 3:13; Mark 1:9; I John 5:6); thereby, providing an example for us to follow.  Baptism also identifies us with our Lord and Savior (Acts 2:38,41; 8:38; 9:18; 10:48; Romans 6:4; Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:12).

Note:

Open Door Fellowship recognizes as acceptable any baptism by immersion following the believer’s conversion to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  Infant baptism is not accepted as an acceptable fulfillment of this Gospel ordinance.

By Letter or Statement of Faith

If you are currently a member of a Bible teaching church, are a born again believer in Jesus Christ, and have been baptized after your conversion by immersion, you can become a member of Open Door Fellowship on the basis of a letter of recommendation from your current church or on the basis of a statement of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and a declaration that you were appropriately baptized.
